| Welcome to the page where you can learn more about us, The Jones family.
We are Nikki and Jeremy Jones and we reside in the Jackson County area of lower Michigan. We do not have any kids, but very much love our 5 dogs and a bunch of barn cats. Currently we are working on building up our operation, but it's still in the works. We currently only offer eggs for eating, but hope to expand on that by fall with fresh butchered chicken for purchase. Our goal is to eventually have a sustainable farm on a decent amount of land, where we will grow produce and raise poultry. Eventually adding beef and pork and possibly a small farm market as time and finances allow.
We have a passion for locally sourced food and the barter system (which can't be taxed by the greedy) and we are looking to make friends with others of like mind. We do have a website up and running, but for now it's just a landing page as I've been focusing most of my time on building this site.
I (Nikki) am on FB and have been a member of a great many groups where I was constantly seeing an unmet need. People were posting up that they were seeking specific things (usually livestock) in their area and having to wait for a period of time and sometimes not at all, before reluctantly resorting to the chain Farm store to get what they were asking for. Yes, there is another page on the internet that is of similar kind, but we do not charge a subscription service. We are able to keep our site going with a small one-time donation or by purchasing an item from our merch store (we only make a small amount from this (there is not a huge markup from the base cost of the items sold). We advertise our site consistantly thru the day to get your information out there for more shoppers to see and we even have a FB page for MichiganFarms.Org too!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by clicking the link above. On a side note, if you want to get your farm or homestead out there and have no idea how to build a site, I may be able to help you with that. I definitely recommend starting with opening a FB page though, it's the easiest and quickest way to get yourself out there. |
